Planning a Catholic Funeral

To schedule a Catholic Funeral Mass or Service, please contact a local funeral home and their representatives will help you schedule with our parish priest.

Please be advised that requesting a “Catholic” Funeral means following the laws and ritual of the church. There are guidelines on the use of biblical readings and approved hymns. Moreover, the Catholic Church always requires that the body (or cremains) must be buried in the ground or interred in a mausoleum. This is both a work of mercy and way of showing our belief in the holiness of the human body.

Choosing Biblical Readings…

OPTION A: If you have one reader, choose a first reading from the New Testament. Then, choose a Gospel.

OPTION B: If there are 2 readers, choose a first reading from Old Testament (or Eastertime, 7 weeks following Easter) and the second reading is from the New Testament. Then, choose a Gospel.
